It has been a while since I’ve done a work in progress post. It has also been a while since I’ve done any oil painting. Be prepared. The photo above is from where I left this painting in 2017. This week I busted out the palette knives and went to town. Already it is looking drastically different.

This painting was started way back in late 2017 and has sat, unfinished, since then. It is a very large painting at 24×30 inches which is likely why it hasn’t been finished. I had written it off as something I would probably never finish, but I love the image and just couldn’t leave it alone. In an effort to dip my toe back into oils this winter, I decided that I’d either ruin it or finish it. Either way is fine by me.
