Some weeks I’m a productive painter. This was not one of those weeks. This week was incredibly unproductive all around, but that happens sometimes. I’m satisfied with the direction this painting is headed, but it’s still a session or two away from being done. Then on to the next subject.
In keeping with the first two titles that are thesaurus versions of “dramatic purple,” I’ve come up with a few more combinations to title this final red onion painting. The top three contenders are measurable heliotrope, considerable purpurate, and marked violaceous. Any stand out? I think I’m leaning toward the last one.
You are teaching me about tenacity. Thanks for the interesting blog — and beautiful paintings.
Thank you Laurie. If the last year of painting has taught me anything, it’s that painting has more to do with tenacity than talent.
