It isn’t Halloween without some jack-o’-lantern carving. This is the first year that both of my girls both gutted and carved their pumpkins on their own. They had a little assistance with having the lines drawn, but otherwise did it themselves. I’m really proud of them.
Unfortunately, I forgot to photograph the pumpkins until several days after. I think it adds to the creepy Halloween spirit though. I’m really just happy they haven’t turned into goopy balls of mold yet. I came across the suggestion to soak them in a solution of bleach-water and decided it couldn’t hurt. I soaked a couple for an hour each and the other two got about half an hour each. It doesn’t look like the longer soak made any difference so I’ll stick with short soaks next year.
Happy Halloween!!
