Spring flowers are starting to emerge! The above flowers are some my husband picked for me from our hopeful future property. They smell absolutely amazing.
In my own yard are these little flowers I found growing randomly in the yard. I have no idea what they are, but I was able to move them from their random location in the grass to a flowerbed. I love them, are they’re usually some of the first flowers to bloom in spring.
It isn’t spring/summer without irises. I have a bunch of clumps of this stuff growing, each with different light so my blooms are spread out quite a bit through the spring and summer.
I haven’t been in the front yard too much yet so it was a surprise to see so many buds and blooms on this plant already.
Finally, I found this in pretty tulip in my neighbor’s yard. It is growing next to an old vehicle and obviously wasn’t purposely planted there, so I have no idea how it make it to this location. The neighbor doesn’t exactly plant flowers. He’s a mow-the-weeds-once-a-year type, so any flowers are surprising.
Love spring flowers! The top flowers are lilacs – a wonderful scent indeed! And the second are something my mother always called “grape hyacinth” although I’m not sure if that’s an official name.
Thank you! I couldn’t for the life of me think of what the top flowers were called when I wrote the post. I think I may have heard my mom call them a hyacinth of some sort at some point but I couldn’t remember the name for them either.
