This my be my favorite onion to date. It has so many colors happening in it. It may be that I just love a good transformation. I seriously hated this painting to begin with. It was a cartoon circus onion when I was just starting it out, but the more I worked on it, the better it looked. Photos of this painting in progress can be seen on my Instagram account.
I apologize if I haven’t been very present lately. I was on a vacation in New York for two weeks and the cell service was exceptionally spotty and unreliable. Which meant my blog and Instagram got a little mixed up and behind. While I did somehow manage to mostly keep up, the auto post feature on my blog didn’t work for some reason so I had to post manually. That frustration on top of a cross county drive and general vacation fun/frustrations mean I’m very glad to be home.
Things haven’t exactly slowed down since I’ve been home though. We made a little detour on the way back and picked up an adorable distraction. Whisky, a 9-week old German Shorthaired Pointer, is the newest addition to the family. My husband and I have been looking at getting another dog for two years. The stars aligned so we couldn’t resist. He’s a bit of a handful right now with chewing on everything and peeing everywhere so it has been a serious struggle to find time in the studio. With the kids going back to school soon and getting the puppy trained, I should be able to get back to work at least in small doses.
